As avid football fans and millions of visitors descend on San Francisco this week, Visa will be there to greet them
with an experience that captures the beauty, innovation and competitive spirit that defines the city. Visa Digital Skyline Projections—a multi-screen digital projection featuring football iconography and historic San Francisco landmarks—willscale more than 260 feet high on the facade of Visa’s One Market headquarters building, in the heart of Super Bowl City.
Powered by 34 high-watt projectors, theinstallation kicked off on Saturday, January 30th and will continue illuminating the San Francisco skyline through Super Bowl Sunday. The live projections were designed in collaboration with San Francisco-based creative studio, Obscura Digital, which is best known for projecting iconic images on landmark structures like the Vatican and the Empire State Building.
“With Super Bowl City centered at the edge of the San Francisco Bay, we were honored that Visa, one of San Francisco’s leading technology companies, has chosen to provide what promises to be an incredible nightly program paying tribute to the NFL, the teams, and this fabulous region that is hosting Super Bowl 50,” says Keith Bruce, CEO of the Super Bowl Host Committee of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Visa Digital Skyline Projections is one of many ways in which Visa will infuse innovation into all areas of the Super Bowl game experience for fans. Payment innovations include installing nearly 700 NFC terminals at the stadium and at the NFL Shop at the NFL Experience, and enabling Visa Checkout in the NFL Super Bowl 50 app so fans can order drinks easily from their seat at the big game.
